John 1:29 – “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”
A lamb is one of the most innocent, captivating, and beautiful animals one could ever look at. They are trusting and dependent on the care of the shepherd. John is preaching and baptizing when he is instantly taken back at the sight of the One before Him. The Savior has arrived. John instantly speaks out what was from within, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” The Lamb of God didn’t just stumble into John’s life. It was a purposeful event, that was ordained before time. The Saviors Journey to the cross must cross the path of the great preacher to be submerged in the Presence of God. We must see the Savior as John did, to have the experience John had. When you see the Savior as the Lamb who takes away all of your sins, you cannot help but speak what John spoke, “Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away my sins!” His Journey to the cross was a Journey to remove and destroy your sins! Don’t just look at Him, look to Him! Look to the Lamb and you’ll behold the beauty of His forgiving work in your life.
